In 2017, Anna and Ian were 10 years old when they created this story with a powerful message on the importance of being a responsible dog owner. They love their family pet dalmatian Becky very much. It was Becky who inspired and helped them create this wonderful world of the Queen of Spotland.
Ian:
"The reason why I wanted to write this story was to spread awareness about the cruelty of puppy mills and why it would be better to buy a pup from a reputable breeder. Of course, this book is about many other things, too. We had a lot of fun writing it. Some things in the story are based on our real life experiences, and some are pure fiction. Our characters go through many adventures and we learn and grow with them."
Anna:
"My idea was to encourage those who are looking into getting a puppy to do more research and find the breed that fits their lifestyle, so that both - the owners and the pup - can live happily together. Unfortunately, sometimes people choose to get a popular breed, like a dalmatian, and fail to realize that not everyone can accommodate the needs of this breed, which might lead to the owners abandoning their dogs. When I learned how many dalmatians end up in dog pounds and shelters every year, I thought the time has come for a new children's story which would help solve this problem."
